My Dear Former Students,
You may have heard that a new exhibition of LOVE LETTERS from Emory's archives (remember MARBL?) is on display in the Level 2 Concourse of the Woodruff Library.
I hope you'll take a moment to check it out!
With Love,
Maureen

Feedback available
Dear Class,
I have finished commenting on your resume and cover letters (and the rewrites turned in yesterday). If you would like to see that feedback before next Monday, it will be available for pickup in my mailbox (in the English Department) during regular business hours (9am-5pm M-F). Any drafts that are not retrieved by next Monday will remain in my mailbox until Dec. 20, and then will be confidentially discarded unless you email me.
Good luck on your exams, and happy re-writing!

Word of the day: Ombudsman
Dear Class,
Remember when I said that there was a word for the person who reads all the complaint letters? This is it:
Ombudsman, n.: A person appointed to investigate complaints against maladministration by a particular category of organization or in a particular area of public life, such as local authorities, hospitals, or pensions.
2. In extended use: a person who handles complaints, a mediator; a spokesperson for the rights of a particular individual or group.
"ombudsman, n." Oxford English Dictionary Online. Sept. 2011. Oxford University Press. Web. 8 Nov. 2011.
Enjoy~

Final Exam Date
Dear Class,
All of your rewrites are due by 7:00pm on Monday, December 12, 2011. All rewrites should be submitted in hard copy, along with all previous drafts, to a location TBA. I will NOT accept ANY submissions past this deadline (even at 7:01) and I will not accept electronic submissions except as "rewrites" of an electronic project (Paper 4). You may of course submit rewrites before this time.
Sincerely,
MTM
