Word of the day: Ombudsman
Dear Class,
Remember when I said that there was a word for the person who reads all the complaint letters? This is it:
Ombudsman, n.: A person appointed to investigate complaints against maladministration by a particular category of organization or in a particular area of public life, such as local authorities, hospitals, or pensions.
2. In extended use: a person who handles complaints, a mediator; a spokesperson for the rights of a particular individual or group.

Final Exam Date
Dear Class,
All of your rewrites are due by 7:00pm on Monday, December 12, 2011. All rewrites should be submitted in hard copy, along with all previous drafts, to a location TBA. I will NOT accept ANY submissions past this deadline (even at 7:01) and I will not accept electronic submissions except as "rewrites" of an electronic project (Paper 4). You may of course submit rewrites before this time.
